I am a mom, maker, paper junkie, and Packaging Engineer. I graduated from Michigan State University, with a BS in Packaging. I have been working in Packaging for just over 24 years. Many of the skills I have as a Packaging Engineer have transferred prefectly to paper crafting. It all started about 12 years ago when my son was in Kindergarten. He had an assignment to make something 3-dimensional, to represent The Statue Of Liberty. Since I worked at a toy company, I thought I might be fun to use an actual large doll for this project. I figured that I would create the main structure of the project and my son could help with cutting things out and assembling. Let’s be honest, this thing became “my project” and took a mind on of its own. It ended up being the talk of the class and parent open house. I had so much fun with the entire creation process and the reaction it got, that it started my passion for making 3d things out of paper. I try to make everything I create have meaning and be very personalized. After that, I started making elaborate projects every year for my son and daughter’s class for their silent auction. I also made gifts for their teachers and coaches, and my daughter’s cheer team. Now that both my children are teenagers, I am focusing more of my time creating custom projects for people and having craft parties, where women can get together with their friends and make something that is very personalized for them.
